There's a lot of great things happening at the Prairie Dog and they appear to have caught the attention of a local paper. Festus just wouldn't let up until the article was posted on the site. He's pretty proud of the old prairie dog.
This article appeared in the Summertimes which was published in Carlyle, Saskatchewan on Friday August 23rd, 2002.

Ray Boutin,
with his two daughters, Simone and Janelle, is all smiles
inside the headquarters of the Prairie Dog Drive-In Theatre.
The proud owner of the Prairie Dog Drive In Theatre has seen the drive-in undergo a metamorphosis of sorts.
Ray Boutin says that the crowd has changed a lot since he bought the theatre six years ago.
"We used to get a very large teenage crowd. Now, we still get a lot of teens, but we also have a lot more families coming out and as a result we are showing a lot more children's and family movies."
The drive-in installed crystal clear stereo sound on 98.5 FM about five years ago, and the response has been fantastic.
The Prairie Dog's 21st anniversary was this summer and plans are already in the works for expanding the theatre's entertainment value. Live bands are just one of the possibilities for next year.
The disappearance of drive-ins across the country hasn't discouraged Boutin in the least. He pointed out that he has seen a slight increase in business every year since he took over and this year is no exception.
Surprisingly, Boutin doesn't get around to watching many movies. e says he only gets to see bits and pieces of what he shows at the theatre. Even so, his favourite movies of all time include The Shawshank Redemption, The Rookie, and The Legend of Bagger Vance.
Boutin is also a huge Matt Damon fan.
"He is an incredible actor." said Boutin. "He is so young and he has so much potential. It's unbelievable."
Even on the Prairie Dog's busiest nights, Boutin has never had to turn anyone away. The theatre "seats" about 200 cars but there has always been enough room for everyone.
"I would say Scooby-Doo was possibly our biggest draw ever. The response to that movie was just phenomenal - far better than Star Wars."
Originally from Alida, Boutin and his wife, Frances, are manufacturing representatives for Grandeur Housing, Coalman Outdoor Furnaces, and Water Furnace Geo-Thermal Heat Pumps. In addition to Frances working part-time in home care, this helps to compliment the seasonal income from the drive-in.
Along with his wife, and drive-in greeters/daughters, Simone and Janelle, Boutin plans to continue enjoying the "pleasant atmosphere" of the Prairie Dog Theatre for many years to come.
